  1. 1 Preheat oven to 160C and line 2 baking trays
  2. 2 Mix oats flour sugar and coconut in a bowl
  3. 3 Melt butter with golden syrup in a small pan
  4. 4 Mix bicarb with boiling water then add to butter mixture
  5. 5 Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir well
  6. 6 Roll tablespoons of mixture into balls
  7. 7 Place on trays allowing space to spread
  8. 8 Flatten slightly with fingers
  9. 9 Bake 12-14 mins until deep golden
  10. 10 They firm as they cool — remove while still slightly soft
